Publication Ethics and Publication Malpractice Statement

Office of Research, Innovation & Commercialization (ORIC) undergoes stringent double blind-peer review of the articles, which is important point in growing and nurturing the knowledge transparency system. It denotes the high quality of authors’ work and the institutions sustaining them. Double blind peer-reviewed articles represent the technical and scientific method applied. To abide upon the anticipated standards of ethical conduct, it is essentially in agreement from all the parties, which are closely involved in the publishing act: the author, the Conference editor(s), the peer-reviewers, the publisher and the high society of sponsored or society-owned conferences.

Office of Research, Innovation & Commercialization (ORIC), Iqra University-IU, Karachi as the SAJMS conference’s publisher undertakes the strict responsibility of protection (guardianship) of the complete stages in publishing and we acknowledge our principles and other responsibilities in this regard.

Printing, Promoting (advertising), reprints and further commercial returns has no effect or control over the editorial decisions. Besides, communication with other conferences and/or publishers will be in support with Editorial Board where it deems useful to editors.

For setting best standards of ethics and malpractice, we are working strongly with other industry associations and publishers like COPE. We are prepared to put forward particular legal analysis and counsel, if required.

Responsibilities of Editors/Editorial Duties

• Editor-in-Chief/Managing Editor have the full responsibility and authority to make decision on the acceptance/rejection of an article.
• Editor(s) should not have no conflict of interest in connection to articles they accept/reject.
• Editor(s) should accept a paper when it is reasonably in principle.
• When errors are observed, the editors should promote publication of correction or retraction.
• Editor(s) should preserve the anonymity of reviewers to authors and authors to reviewers.
• Editor(s) should monitor/safe guard publishing Ethics.
• Editor(s) should maintain the integrity of the academic record.
• Editor(s) should preclude business needs from compromising Ethical and intellectual standards.
• Editor(s) should always be willing to publish correction, clarification, retraction and apologies when needed.
• Editor(s) should confirm the zero plagiarism and zero fraudulent activity in publishing.
• Editor(s) should maintain the double blind reviews of all manuscripts coming for publication in SAJMS.

Responsibilities of Authors

• Author(s) should be obligated to give the clarification on competing interest (if any) and funding source (if any).
• Author(s) should be obligated to give the clarification on author’s contribution which should include; which author has contributed what to the research and the construction of research manuscript.
• Author(s) should be obligated to provide retraction or correction of mistakes.
• The author(s) should be obligated to participate in peer review process of the manuscript to which he/she is not in the authorship.
• Author(s) should be precluded from publishing same research in more than one conference.
• Author(s) should be precluded from providing fraudulent data and plagiarism.

Responsibilities of Reviewers

• A reviewer should give judgments in principle and by objective.
• A reviewer should not have any conflict of interest with respect to the research, authors and/or research funders.
• A reviewer should point out the author’s self-citation of the published work.
• A reviewer should point out the relevant published work which is not yet cited in the manuscript under the review.
• A reviewer should maintain the confidentiality of the articles which is under his/ her review.

NOTE: ORIC-IUC STRONGLY CONDEMNS THE PRACTICES OF PLAGIARIZED CONTENT, DUBIOUS AUTHORSHIP AND ANY MALPRACTICE, WHICH DEPRECIATES THE IMAGE OF ACADEMIC RESEARCH.
